Just about nine miles in from the Shiloh-Scott terminal, this
scene shows the well-built right of way with the rather rustic
surroundings that prevail in much of St. Clair County. The double switches
are for
non-standard train movements, but as is normally the case trains in each
direction in this scene are moving on their appropriate tracks.
MetroLink trains operate at speeds up to 55 miles per hour.
