The old freight rails, along with a spur switch, show up
in this view of the purple car on Terry Ave. N. The test unit was
momentarily stopped, and it was easy to get a clear photo.
Speeds along the route never amount to too much, with the cars capable of
running at thirty miles an hour. The short ride, with stops and
traffic controls, is a slow one. It will be
interesting to see how well service is received in its first few years
of operation, and how it helps to hasten and shape
the dramatic changes occurring in the South Lake Union area. |
