This run had ended outbound at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research
Center Station, but during the initial few weeks, when the line was free of charge
for all,
passengers could stay on board to ride further to the single-track stretch
ahead along Fairview Ave. N. It is along that short stretch that cars normally dwell for a while, allowing for a short break for the
operator before
he or she switches directions to return to the other side of the platform
and the inbound run.
The main campus of the University of Washington is several miles ahead.
There is optimistic discussion of extending this route out to there at some future time. |
