It's a rare sight indeed to see a light rail route cross
an active freight line, but such is the case here, near the Port of San
Francisco. This is one of two locations where T-Third crosses Union Pacific spurs coming
off the Caltrain mainline to serve local customers.
Muni will be building a second major light rail maintenance facility -- the
other one being near Balboa Park -- a few blocks
north of here. Switches are in place at two street intersections with
the T-Third. |
