The location of this scene is close to the
University of California San Francisco, a major traffic generator
for the N-Judah line. This route carries a huge passenger load; not
infrequently its trains are filled to capacity, and potential passengers
must be
waved off.
At the time of this
photo the extension beyond Embarcadero to Caltrain Depot (or CalTrain, as
Muni chose to display it) was still a very recent
event. In the spring of 2007, with the arrival
of the T-Third line, N-Judah reverted to its original subway
terminal at Embarcadero, a change that lasted only for a few months.
By midyear the line was again going to 4th & King (Caltrain). |
