Fort Douglas was an active Army post for more
than one and one-quarter centuries beginning in 1862, thus its
history goes back to Wild West days. It has
been deactivated, and serves multiple uses now, many related
to the University of Utah. A number of historic
buildings remain, and walking through its streets is a pleasant
experience.
Fort property is on the far side of the TRAX station in this view.
This is the first stop inbound on the University Line. |
