UTA LIGHT RAIL
Rails End, Delta Center

The photo shows the downtown end of the two lines at what was then the Delta Center terminal.  The train on the right is headed for the University of Utah, as indicated by the red background on its destination sign.  The other train will be handling the original route out to 10000 South/Sandy Civic Center.

The bumpers and end of the tracks were not to be a permanent part of the TRAX landscape.  A 2008 extension takes TRAX about three-quarters of a mile further south and west.  The new Salt Lake Central Station allows for passenger interchange with commuter rail, as well as with Amtrak and with intercity buses.

A planned light rail route will take tracks from this former ending to and from the north and west, with service to the airport.
