PORTLAND MAX LIGHT RAIL
Tracks End, Hillsboro

A heavy-duty bumper marks the end of the rails at the Hatfield Government Center station in Hillsboro.  The train had just arrived at the time of this view, and the motorman is still at its outbound end.

Gresham, the other end of the line, is 33 miles and 45 stations away, and the run takes something over one and one half hours.  The Blue Line is the second-longest light rail journey in North America, with only the St. Louis system having a longer run -- just slightly so.

The remainder of this section -- more than thirty pages -- first returns close to the Free Rail Zone, and then follows the line westward back here to the outbound terminal.
