This view west across NW 205th Ave. shows concrete ties
and the well-maintained right of way of Westside MAX. As with
the Eastside line,
a significant portion of the line follows a former interurban line. The
extensive stretch
between Beaverton and Hillsboro runs along the route of the long-gone Oregon
Electric.
There is perhaps
something to this view that hints at its old electric rail heritage; or
maybe
that feeling is mostly something the mind conjures up, knowing what once was.
On the other hand, the Westside extension, unlike the original line to
Gresham, utilizes concrete ties along its long stretch of private right of
way. And so goes progress. |
