PORTLAND MAX LIGHT RAIL
Crossing SW Mill St.

On a very gray weekend morning this Yellow Line train is heading northbound for the heart of Portland, and then to travel across the Willamette River to reach Expo Center.  The intersection marks SW Mill St.  Not visible here, the northbound Portland Streetcar enters Mill at this location, to cross at right angles to reach its own southbound turn onto SW 10th St.

The older Streetcar (started in 2001) and the newer Portland Mall route run generally parallel north-south through much of center city, five or so blocks apart (closer for northbound runs than for southbound).  As with the east-west MAX route, the Mall tracks have four locations where they cross the rails of the Streetcar.  There are no connections between Portland Mall rails and the other system.
