Portland Saturday Market brings much activity to the area
near SW 1st Ave.
just south of Burnside Bridge. The Market
was in progress at the time of this photo, and there was a good turnout
that day.
Aromas fill the area
from the various booths that vend different cuisines.
Other nearby stalls
have racks of colorful
clothing, or displays of handicrafts and trinkets, all arranged to attract maximum
consumer
interest. And just out of sight on the left a rotund sidewalk person
who claims psychic powers
is plying her trade.
Despite the name, the Market operates on both weekend days in a long season that
includes all but the coldest months of the year. |
