Final Stop, Early On

This photo is at Cleveland Ave., last stop in Gresham.  Unlike the previous images from Gresham in this section, this one was taken not too much after the line opened in 1986; this is perhaps hinted upon by the fragile appearance of the young trees that had been planted within the station platform.

Much of the right of way along the farther part of the route was single-track then.  Everything has been double-tracked since.

Over the years destination signs for trains bound for downtown from here have shown at least the following three variations: Portland, City Center, and Portland City Center.  It has all been moot for some time now, as trains go much further out, to Hillsboro. 

These original MAX cars, those numbered in the 100 series, are the only series manufactured by Bombardier.
