Mile 0.0 shows its marker at this scene from
center platform at Union Station. The train in view is out of
service. In late 2009 the route was
extended beyond here to reach East Los Angeles by way of Little
Tokyo/Arts District, a crossing of the Los Angeles River along 1st
St., and twin 1.8 mile tunnels under Boyle Heights, with two
underground stations.
Planning is underway to evaluate options for continuing that line
further east to other communities in Los Angeles County. No
specific route has yet been determined. |
