LOS ANGELES METRO LIGHT RAIL
Parkland

Parkland lies beyond the Gold Line near Chinatown in an area of old industry and freight yards known as The Cornfield.

This photographer walked over the old pedestrian overpass nearby in the mid-1970s, taking pictures of freight cars and multiple tracks below.  It was before the rebirth of light rail anywhere on the continent, and certainly long before the L.A. area embraced rail transit again.  He didn't imagine the possibility of a scene such as this.
