LOS ANGELES METRO LIGHT RAIL
Sensation of Speed

Taken on a dismal February morning, this photo captures an outbound train as it briefly runs parallel to Fair Oaks Ave. in the southern part of Pasadena.  The camera settings heighten the sensation of speed as the train passes by.

The Pacific Electric came along Fair Oaks once upon a time, providing one of two routes that connected Pasadena with Los Angeles.  PE also provided local service in the area, and it went far out into the San Gabriel Valley -- reaching into, and well beyond, territory that the Gold Line may serve at some future date.
