As can be sensed from the photo, the Pico station is at the fringes
of downtown. Shortly after departing north from the station
the Blue Line enters into its half-mile tunnel to terminate at 7th
St./Metro Center, the only station in the city's core.
Near this station are two major traffic
generators: the Los Angeles Convention Center, and Staples Center, home
to professional basketball and hockey teams, and site of many concerts
and special events since it opened in 1999. |
