HUDSON-BERGEN LIGHT RAIL
River Beyond

Taken from inside a train waiting to depart Hoboken Terminal, this scene shows some newly planted trees, and a bit of the Hudson River and part of the Manhattan skyline beyond.  The building on the New Jersey side is a ventilating structure for the Holland Tunnel.

From here down through Jersey City great rail facilities once reached the Hudson River, and passenger and freight traffic once crossed the water: Lackawanna, Erie, Pennsylvania, Jersey Central, Lehigh Valley.
