The E. 34th St. station in Bayonne is at street level, allowing easy access to Ave.
E, and permitting a better view of the neighborhood than can be seen
from the tracks nearby to the
north. A
pedestrian crossing allows one to walk over this southbound track
just behind the rail car.
This was the terminal station when the photo was taken. A train
was picking up passengers, and would soon leave and switch to
the correct rails or a return to Jersey City.
