HOUSTON LIGHT RAIL
Leaving Center City

This southbound train is just about to enter the platform area at Downtown Transit Center.  A bit of the overhead structure for the I-45 freeway appears to the right.  After passing under that road the Red Line will be traveling through the Midtown neighborhood of Houston.

As the "Transit Center" designation implies, numerous bus lines -- more than two dozen at peak times -- stop by or near the train station.  The coming of the Red Line removed many bus trips from Main St.

Traffic signals placed horizontally are common in many Texas communities.
