McGowen is the next stop beyond Downtown Transit
Center. It is the
first of three stations in the city's Midtown district. This
is one of the older neighborhoods in Houston, and has seen its periods of
vitality and decline. At the time of this view midway through the first decade of the
new century these blocks seemed ripe for redevelopment, and for much more intensive utilization. |
