A train of mixed paint schemes has just left
the terminal station in this view, and is rising to reach Lechmere Viaduct.
Although there are numerous street crossings on the branches once they reach
ground level west of downtown, there are none on this portion of the
system.
The proposed extension out to Somerville and Medford will add five or
six miles to the line, and would likely take off in a different tangent
in this immediate vicinity. It is still in the early planning
stages, and no final route selection has taken place. |
