LITTLE ROCK HERITAGE RAIL
World Avenue

E. 3rd St. has little traffic or activity along this stretch just east of downtown Little Rock.  The streetcar in this view has turned off to its one-track terminal alongside World Ave.  This extension from the Little Rock Loop opened in late 2006.  It added about nine-tenths of a mile to the River Rail system.  It brought the total length to almost three and one-half miles.

The statue is on the headquarters property of Heifer International, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending hunger and poverty, and to caring for the earth.   The donated work by Allan Houser is entitled "Homeward Bound."  It depicts a Navajo shepherdess with a lamb, sheep and dog.
