The newer and much closer main Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport
terminal stands in the background beyond a District-bound Yellow Line
train in this view. Two platforms serve the three tracks. The middle
track
is not in normal service.
The fare structure on Metrorail is based on the
distance traveled and whether or not entry is during peak travel hours.
The highest rush hour fare is $3.90, and the lowest fare, at all times, is
$1.35.
As with the Bay Area's system, the passenger must insert a fare card both
for station entry and exit, and the card's reduced value is printed out
upon second retrieval, if there is any amount remaining. |
