WASHINGTON, DC HEAVY RAIL
Crystal City Beyond

The streets of Crystal City, not far from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, are intensely developed with office buildings, hotels, high-rise residences, shopping and other structures.  This view shows a Yellow Line train outbound at the airport station. looking toward some of that district.

Metrorail trains are identified with a sign and large color placard at their front end.  If the passenger does not see the front of the train, it is not always easy to tell which line has arrived at stations served by two different routes.  Some busier jointly used platforms have illuminated color signs at the end of the station to show the identification for the approaching or boarding train.
