Bright red paint makes a forceful statement
for this PATCO station entrance in Center City Philadelphia. The design speaks to the fact that this
portion of the route has seen many decades of service.
There are three levels of subway transit at 8th and Market. The
oldest, the Market-Frankfort Line, goes east-west. The Broad-Ridge
Spur, running north-south along 8th, terminates there. Beneath
that line is the Speedline. Free transfers are not offered between
the two systems, but one may buy reduced-fare access to the SEPTA lines. |
