NEW YORK CITY HEAVY RAIL
Jay St. Brooklyn

This photo is in Brooklyn on the former IND, a route served by the A, C and F trains. Lines and terminals and express or local service available at stations can change depending on time of day and weekday/weekend status and service advisories.  Trying to comprehend what goes where, or how to get from here to there, when can sometimes be a bit daunting, even for the natives.

The current record for different lines utilizing the same route segment is under Queens Blvd. between Forest Park and Jackson Heights.  The four-track service carries trains for the E, F, G, R and V trains, although not all run together at the same time.  With the latest expansion of the system, trains from that route leave Queens for Manhattan using three different tunnels.
