NEW YORK CITY HEAVY RAIL
Over Chinatown

There are not too many opportunities for outdoor views of the system from Manhattan's streets.  The two East River bridges allow for the only vistas in the main business part of the borough.  Here, over the teeming streets of Chinatown, one can watch traffic on the south tracks of the Manhattan Bridge.  There are four tracks across the bridge, a set on each side of the span.  The northern pair leads to the Chrystie St. connection and former IND routes under Manhattan.
