The Hackensack River is the middle
and most minor of the three rivers crossed by PATH. Evidence of
former overhead wiring is ahead, but that was for joint running by the
old Pennsylvania Railroad.
The rapid transit line has always utilized third-rail power pickup for its entire
system.
