This view is at Hoboken. Trains
from here go to both Manhattan terminals, but the passenger heading to
Newark needs to transfer at Pavonia/Newport. The four lines that
operate during the day become just two lines in the overnight hours (and
evening hours on weekends).
The reduced service actually provides some benefit for Hoboken
passengers. There is direct service to Journal Square only during
these off-peak operating times.
The car in this photo is from the oldest model in use by PATH,
manufactured in the mid-1960s by the once-major builder of transit
equipment, St. Louis Car. |
