The
right of way is over the median of SW 1st Ave. in this area north of
the Brickell station. Part
of the grassy stretches below has been established and marked as "Beethoven
Promenade" by the city-county. A sign marking the way advises that "We can all touch
his greatness when we allow the poetry of his music to inhabit our soul,
elevate our spirit, and unite us as one community."
A high-rise residential building is under construction ahead in this
2008 view, which looks northbound toward the Miami River. There has
been substantial redevelopment on the southern and western fringes of
downtown. The downturn in the economy and the real estate market
experienced in recent years has had a major impact on Miami, and Florida. |
