The Green Line Branch to Ashland parallels 63rd,
but is a half block or so off over private right of way. Trees
and June growth are in substantial evidence in this photo. There are numerous
vacant lots in the area, but also there are some significant renewal
projects.
This branch crosses the Red Line in the median of the Dan Ryan. If
timing is favorable, the expressway driver or passenger can see CTA rail
transit on two different levels. There is no transfer point
between the lines. |
