It was a hot August day. Children were playing with
a garden hose in the alley to the left. Gates were down and a Brown Line train moved
slowly inbound at Spaulding, the first outbound of several grade crossings on the
street-level part of the final part of the route. A sign informs, "Danger - Keep Off
Tracks / Electric Current." |
