The Francisco station for the ground-level Brown Line
is a humble affair, one which sees relatively little activity. It is in a
quiet residential neighborhood, and is just a few blocks to the east of
the station at Kedzie Ave., a much busier thoroughfare in a commercial area.
Parts of the North Side have undergone substantial
redevelopment in recent years. The Brown Line has experienced the
highest rate of passenger growth increase on the CTA system in recent
years, and as of 2008 is undergoing massive rehabilitation and
reconstruction.
