CHICAGO HEAVY RAIL
Harold Washington Library

The covered portion of the Library-State/Van Buren station is a bit ahead in this view.  The station's roof emulates, at least to some degree, the massive roof over the brick building in the distance.  That structure looks to be quite venerable, but really isn't so.  It's the main branch  of the Chicago Library, named in honor of Harold Washington, and opened in the early 1990s.
