The train in this view has
moved away from the Library-State/Van Buren station.
These cars are rather
distinctive, different from the current normal on the CTA. The design and number -- the 2200 series -- identifies
them as being rather elderly: 1969 Budd Co. units. The train signs
show that it is "Not in Service."
The junction at Wabash and Van
Buren is fairly close ahead, and its control tower is visible in the
