BOSTON HEAVY RAIL
Charles River

Small boats are moored in the Charles River, and the sunlight is brilliant in this scene from an October day.  Trains have been operating over this bridge, known for decades now as the Longfellow Bridge, since the opening of the initial portion of the line in 1912.

Although the scene is very close to downtown, once across the river the trains are in a different county, Middlesex, and a different city, Cambridge.
