The above photo is at the MacArthur Station in Oakland, and dates
from 1976 -- four years or so after the system began operation.
The original route ran from this point southeast to Fremont, about 28 miles.
BART is four-tracked side-by-side here, the only location on the
system configured this way. Three lines use this station. This train is
on the route that stays on the East Bay, and is southbound for Fremont,
from Richmond. |
