This road is old and poorly maintained, and has almost nothing in the way of shoulders.  Probably hours could go by before another vehicle passes.  It's the Interior West, and from the dating on the back of the photo -- October, 1985 -- I can determine that the location is likely somewhere in southeastern Oregon.
