High-rise residential units are clustered in many
areas in metropolitan Vancouver, and continue to be erected at a
rapid pace. The density of the city supports urban rail
transit and its continuing expansion, which in turn surely helps induce
further building near the routes.
The very large mall (second largest in Canada, it is said) --
now called Metropolis at Metrotown; once earlier, Metrotown Centre Mall;
and earlier before that, otherwise -- benefits
from both the transit line and from the great surrounding urban development. The
station stop, which remains simply as Metrotown, is an extremely busy one,
for shoppers, nearby residents and those transferring to or from
numerous bus lines below. |
