Canadian Pacific freight tracks still remain in
this area near the SkyTrain reversing zone beyond Waterfront Station, but
in diminished numbers. The territory immediately to the left of
SkyTrain is now used for the terminal for West Coast Express commuter rail, which
takes a different route from SkyTrain to go much further out on the Lower
Mainland.
Despite all the
construction in central Vancouver that postdates this scene, many historic
buildings have been preserved on the blocks nearby in the city's
famous Gastown district. |
