The abrupt end of the Blue Line terminal at Shrewsbury-Lansdowne
I-44 is quite apparent in this side view. There is a major
park-and-ride and bus transfer facility to service light rail here.
The route has formed rather a long U- or V-shape from Forest Park-DeBaliviere, and this station is actually, just barely, back within the
city limits of St. Louis.
This extension was built with controversy over the route and its
construction, and was finished with significant cost overruns and delays. That history may impact other
potential expansion for MetroLink.
