ST. LOUIS LIGHT RAIL
Train Shed, Union Station

Union Station was once a major hub for mainline passenger rail traffic heading in from all directions on the multiple carriers serving St. Louis.  Trains no longer call at its huge shed, visible in this view.  But the terminal building, elegantly restored and out of sight to the right, has been turned into a popular visitor location, with restaurants, stores and a hotel.

This view looks down on the Union Station stop on MetroLink.  Amtrak maintains a modest level of activity at St. Louis, and has a station, recently constructed, adjacent to the Civic Center light rail station, the next stop inbound along the light rail route.
