CENTRAL LINK LIGHT RAIL
West Portal

The Beacon Hill Tunnel is about one mile long.  Two separate deep bores were made to construct it, each one carrying a single track along the somewhat curving route.  The tubes feature a station placed far under the modest commercial heart of the namesake neighborhood.

At either end, the right of way emerges directly onto elevated structures.  The inbound train in this view is leaving West Portal, and will shortly pass by the system's Operations and Maintenance facility, located at street level.
