SAN JOSE LIGHT RAIL
Along San Carlos

Convention centers, corporate buildings, museums and parks flank the route in the  southern downtown area as it travels briefly and generally northeast-southwest along San Carlos Ave.  Trains bound for Santa Teresa execute a ninety degree turn just out of view to the left.

Service for Winchester began running straight to and from the left along San Carlos in the summer of 2005 with the opening of Phase I of the Vasona Light Rail Project.  Eight stops carry the line more than five miles out, mostly along an old Union Pacific right of way.  Phase II, if and when funded, will continue the route another two stations further.
