SAN JOSE LIGHT RAIL
Approaching Baypointe

This view is from the front window of a train operating on the former routing between Mountain View and I-880/Milpitas.   Baypointe station is visible on the other side of N. 1st St.  Trains to and from downtown San Jose and points south terminated at Baypointe under this arrangement.   The nearer switches to and from the right weren't used in regular service at the time of this photo.  They had been part of the original route from Great America into San Jose.

Current service patterns have these switches in use again.  Baypointe is no longer a terminal, nor a transfer station; and all runs switch onto or from N. 1st St.

The stark hills in the distance speak to a clear day in summertime in the San Jose area.
