Amtrak and Coaster, the San Diego area commuter line,
use the Santa Fe Depot downtown, along with the Blue Line.
Each system has its dedicated tracks and platforms, with the trolley
perhaps improbably located closest to the handsome old station. It's a fine
place for train watching.
Once upon a time the old San Diego trolley network had a loop in this
area. The city's last electric rail line in the earlier network ran in
1949. |
