PORTLAND MAX LIGHT RAIL
View East from Vista Bridge

From atop Vista Bridge -- it is more than quite a decent walk up from the Goose Hollow/SW Jefferson St. station, visible where the two trains are stopped far below in this scene -- one gets a fine view of parts of downtown, and of other nearby areas.  And also a good feel for the altitude that is avoided by the transit route.

One is perhaps reminded of other cities where urban rail long ago overcame substantial hills, and in particular of San Francisco and Pittsburgh.
