PORTLAND LIGHT RAIL
Getting Ready

Bridges across the Willamette are much in evidence in this view taken in 2003.   The reddish-painted structure is Broadway Bridge, and the massive arch behind supports the Fremont Bridge, which carries Interstate 405.

The  Yellow Line was then still under construction, with service about six months away.  The fencing to the right marks the end of the platform and walkway area for the Interstate/Rose Quarter station.  The safety chain-link railing that the finished line features along much of the right of way had not yet been installed.
