I-205 is very hectic at times as it serves as a
north-south bypass freeway away from the downtown area.
This view is from the overpass for SE Market St. There is much shopping and a
large hospital complex to the right. But if one crosses to the left of
the freeway, one enters an older and quiet Portland
neighborhood quite typical for this part of the Eastside.
Rails curve from the camera toward the SE Main St. station. Access for
the park-and-ride lot requires crossing MAX at grade, with suitable protection in
place. To the left, a helpful sign along Interstate 205 identifies a
number of food places available at the next interchange. |
