PITTSBURGH LIGHT RAIL
Red Signals

Signals have been tripped to red in this Saturday morning view after the passage of a train for South Hills Village.  The location is similar to that of the previous image in the series, and the time, just after.

The LRV has begun its descent toward Dormont Junction and the Mt. Lebanon tunnel.  There is no rail junction at Dormont any longer, and the tunnel is a relatively recent addition to the Pittsburgh transit scene.  It replaced slow street running as part of the transit improvements of the mid-1980s, and is a bit over half a mile long.
